So today let me just give you a brief intro to what a PAN really is and we will also let you know how to check pan card status by name and date of birth.
PAN basically stands for PERMANENT ACCOUNT NUMBER. It basically is a code, obviously since there are numbers in it. This mainly works as an identification code or number for us INDIANS, especially for those who pay INCOME TAX the rest who of us who don’t pay tax need not really worry. 😀
Well, I guess now you know what it really is.
Let us just look at its uses once to understand what we are really talking about.
The PAN is very useful, when it comes to financial transactions, it is useful while opening a bank account which at times is a very hectic job, so having a PAN account by your side really saves the workload. So the main thing you must keep in mind is that when you are doing some legit financial work in India, it is very mandatory you must have a PAN account, just to pay our great nation the tax it deserves, I guess.
Now let us talk about the main business.
HOW TO VERIFY PAN BY NAME?
Let us suppose you don’t know your PAN number, then you just have to go through some simple steps. Not to much to bother about. You will first have to go on to the link I have just provided below.
So once you have clicked on it, you will be directed to the official website of the Department of Income Tax.
Here you just have to fill in the following:
- Your Date of Birth (DOB)
- Your Surname
- Your Middle name (if any)
- Your First name
- You also have to type in the CAPTCHA.
Just in case there are multiple people like you in India having similar name or date of birth, you might get a number of results. Then you will just have to fill in some more detail to narrow down your search.
You might be required to give the following data as above but now you will also be asked the following:
- Your Father’s name (Complete name)
There are a few additional things you might keep in mind is that in case you just have a single name or it’s a company name. Then the complete name shall be treated as the last name and the DATE OF REGISTRATION of the company shall be treated as the Date of Birth, while filling up the form.
You see it is just so simple.
Also, I almost forgot to mention something important about the PAN is that it’s primary purpose is to bring a universal identification to your transactions and to avoid tax evasion in any way possible.
